Your Soul Sunday School classes: 9:30 am Contemporary Issues: (Family Room, Level 2 - Room 2) This
class addresses issues of our everyday lives – political, moral
and social – with reflection on our Christian tradition and our
United Methodist heritage. We study various articles and books on contemporary
topics, including hunger and poverty, with discussion led by classmembers.

(Level 1 - Room 9) Participants
are young adults with active families. With Wayne
and Beth Brown as primary teachers, we will cover a variety of topics
on marriage, prayer, current issues and issues that speak
to us, as we continually search for ways to keep God as a focus in our
busy lives. We are joined by our faith and desire
to continually build our relationship with the Lord. The added bonus is
that we like to have fun! We plan social activities throughout the year.

Life After Forty: (Level 1 - Room 13)
A class previously focused on singles but now welcoming all adults, LAF
is designed to provide a spiritual and social community for mid-life adults.
Our mission is to provide support in fulfilling and enriching the Christian
lives of TrinityÕs adults through GodÕs blessings and guidance. Studies
include issues such as realities of mid-life and aging, pre-retirement
and work, spirituality, lifelong learning, relationships and directing
our lives to give back to our community, families and the world. We provide

Horizons: (Level
1 - Room 8) Young couples of all types in their 20Õs and 30Õs enjoy this
scripture-based class. We emphasize developing an understanding of our
faith and how it applies to every day living. We offer a faith-based experience
and an opportunity to learn about other church opportunities while meeting
other couples with similar interests. Class social events are planned

Young Adults: (BrideÕs
Room, Level 2 – Room 11) Young adults study biblical, non-biblical,
religious and contemporary material in order to gain a better understanding
of our spiritual lives and of our faith. We discuss each work in-depth,
bringing in our own life experiences, education and other resources. Contact

to share in this weekly opportunity of fellowship, devotion and Bible
study. This fall, the class will explore the book of Genesis, with a theme

look at the gospel of Luke in a study entitled ÒGodÕs Call to Christian
Community.Ó Student books will be available
for each quarter, and all classes are led by Senior Pastor Mike Dent.

Level 2) The Bible survey class invites you to join us as we support one
another in listening, discussing and applying the weekly lesson to our

Room, Level 3) All are welcome to this class of sharing and supportive
couples and singles.

religious history and doctrine, interfaith exploration and
religious representations in music,

Ministries Trinity MenÕs Ministry is in the
midst of a rebirth! In addition to the small groups listed below, the
entire body meets at Trinity United Methodist Church on the 2nd Saturday
morning of each month for breakfast, followed by a speaker and discussion. Special events planned for this year include a Habitat for
Humanity build and a ÒDadÕs Day OutÓ to the zoo for fathers and their

Retreats: Women are invited to participate in two retreats held

Fall Retreat, focusing on the
Rhythm of Life, is held the last weekend of September at Snow Mountain
Ranch near Winter Park, Colorado.
This FallÕs Retreat is September 28-30 and includes ample time
for fellowship, study, fabulous community meals and recreation. The
Spring Retreat
is held the first weekend of March at Evergreen United
Methodist Church. Focusing
on dimensions of the spiritual life, this overnight retreat provides a
24-hour period to connect with other women of the faith community and
to connect with God. Spring
2008 Retreat is scheduled for February 29-March 1.

Ministries Blood
Pressure Screening: (Trinity Cafe) Screening is offered at no charge on the 3rd
Sunday of each month. Divorce
Discovery Class: Although there
is a great deal of recovery that must occur in the wake of a divorce,
there is also a strong unfolding regarding the relationship between our
past, present and future that needs to be discovered. Divorce Discovery
Class attempts to do just that:
to discover how grace, forgiveness, ownership and hope are critical
chapters in oneÕs own personal story. Led by M. Wayne Brown, licensed
marriage and family therapist and member of Trinity United Methodist Church,
the first series will be held on Tuesdays, October 2, 9 and 16. A minimal
fee will be charged to cover the cost of materials and a light supper.

Beginnings: The development and
unfolding of a relationship
is a major step as couples enter into a marriage relationship. New Beginnings
is a one-day workshop (9 am – 4 pm) designed to explore important
skills for a good relationship, including communication and negotiation
skills, setting of expectations, discussion of roles and much more. These
quarterly workshops are led by Dr. Steve Benson, nationally certified
counselor working with issues related to marriage and family. Workshop
dates: August 11 and October 13, 2007 and February 9 and May 10, 2008.

half a day each spring. Prayer Quilt Ministry: The prayer quilt group meets on the 2nd Saturday of each month at Trinity
United Methodist Church. All people wanting to learn quilting skills,
along with sharing in Christian fellowship, are welcome to join us in
creating quilts for the Prayer Quilt Ministry. These prayer quilts are
given to members and friends of Trinity who are experiencing difficult
times. In addition to making quilts, the group gathers for community quilting

experiencing the loss of a loved one gather quarterly to allow time to
share stories and discover ways to manage our losses with some helpful

Planning For example, How
to Become a Financially Secure Woman
is a seminar for women of any age, presented by Certified Financial Planner
Peggy Houser. A survey by Working Woman magazine found one out
of every two women fear becoming a "bag lady." In the classes,
we will identify the crucial things you need to know to avoid these scenarios,
develop a checklist and give you a sense of financial security. We also
will discuss what steps to take if you donÕt have enough money for the
things you need. This class is not about the amount of money you have,
but about learning how to manage, invest and protect it. Contact Peggy

and Faith Studies Disciple
Bible Study: Through
the in-depth study of scripture, this program is designed to develop strong
Christian leaders. Disciple participants are strengthened in faith and
guided into service and ministry. Daily Bible reading and journaling are
an important part of this structured, intensive study. At the weekly meetings,
questions are explored that are designed to stimulate group discussion.

Chapel is a hands-on, mini-worship
experience for children and their parents. Components include lighting
the candles, singing, scripture reading, storytelling, LordÕs Prayer and

Play: 2-year-olds – pre-kindergarten. Three classes
of Montessori Sunday school use story figures, creative activities and
ÒI wonderÓ questions to encourage our preschoolers to learn and wonder. Live BIG:

A DVD is used to enhance the music, mission and story. Parable Sunday School Sundays, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Miniature
Parable: 2- 3-year-olds. This
early childhood Bible learning series is both a story and play time. Pre-School
and Elementary Parable: 4-year-olds
to 5th graders begin in the sanctuary with the 11:00 am worship
service and are escorted to the Atrium Level after the childrenÕs sermon.

listening opportunities and other activities geared specifically for the

Music and Arts Ministry of historic Trinity United Methodist Church is

theme for this season is "Together, Trusting God to Grow Our Talents.Ó
You are invited to join the Music and Arts Ministry as we explore GodÕs
gifts through the music and art programs offered at Trinity UMC. As we
gather together to do what no one of us can do alone, we experience transformation.
The building of a community of artists is a great privilege and opportunity,
which requires our soul, mind, heart and strength. Chancel
Choir: Singers
wanted! The Chancel Choir rehearses on Wednesdays, 7:00 - 9:00 pm, and
sings on Sundays at the 11:00 am worship service. They will perform two
major works this year: Vivaldi's "Gloria" on December 16 and,
with Joyful Voices and Youth Choir, "Captain Noah" on May 4.
The choir will sing the National Anthem at the Colorado Rockies game on
September 20. Last season, they created their second compact disc, "Silent
Night - Christmas Eve at Trinity UMC" CDs may be purchased through
the church office. Men's
Choir: Rehearsals are held once a month, on Wednesdays, 5:45
pm to 6:45 pm. The choir sings at the 8:15 am worship service on the first
and third Sundays of the month. This community of men is an exciting place
to belong, to pray and to sing! Women's
Choir: This
group sings for the 8:15 am worship service and practices on Wednesdays,
5:45 – 6:45 pm. Contact Susan Turman through the church office at
303-839-1493. The community of womenÕs voices praising God lifts us all. Chancel
Choir Chamber Singers: This auditioned ensemble meets on a predetermined schedule
on Wednesdays, 5:45 - 6:45 pm. The group sings at worship once a month
and performs at events outside of Trinity UMC. This year they will sing
for Eclectics at the Denver Country Club and for a Second Sunday Artists
Series concert on March 9, 2008. Youth
Choir: Young adults in grades
6-12 sing in this choir. They meet on Wednesdays, 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm. This
season, they will join with the Chancel Choir and Joyful Voices to perform
ÒCaptain NoahÓ on May 4. The Youth Choir will attend the Choristers Festival
in April, joining with other singers across the city. Join this growing,

Choirs Handbell
ringers are wanted! Handbell ringing has been a tradition at Trinity for
more than 40 years. There are several choirs for both children and adults.
The list below should help you decide which choir is best for you and/or
your child. For information on the handbell ministry, contact Stacy Bowman

are seasoned players. All members are dedicated to preparing music to
enhance the worship experience. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings, 6:00
– 7:00 pm. Prospective members need to read music and be at beginning
to advanced ability, but not necessarily with four-in-hand experience.
Ringers, high-school-aged and older are welcome to audition. Contact the

Ambassadors: This
group is open to experienced ringers who want to ring in public, outside
of church. Prospective members need to read music and be at beginning
to advanced ability, but not necessarily with four-in-hand experience.
There are no age restrictions. We ask that participants commit to our
rehearsal and playing schedule as it evolves. Rehearsals are Wednesday
evenings, 7:00 - 8:00 pm. This group may play in church when space is

Ensemble: This adult ensemble,
of four to six ringers, focuses on music written for small groups. They
rehearse Thursday evenings, 5:00 – 6:30 pm. A new member would be
an advanced ringer with ensemble experience, including four-in-hand, extensive
bell sharing and a spirit of cooperation. The auditioning ringer would
substitute for the director while he directs and evaluates. Contact the

Ringers: This adult, auditioned
group rehearses Monday evenings, 5:30 – 7:00 pm. This choir consists

Drama Ministry Carol
Feickert directs this theatre-drama ministry. The Drama Council consists
of people that are passionate about the healing power of theatre. There
will be opportunities to join this ministry as they develop sketches based
on the scripture for Sunday worship. Also, on Maundy Thursday there will
be a drama in fellowship hall. Are you an actor? Then answer the call

Sunday Artists Series Mark
your calendars, from October to May, for FREE concerts at Trinity. The
concerts are held in the sanctuary on the second Sunday of the month at
1:30 pm. Local musicians provide entertaining and inspirational programs
for all to enjoy! In October, the Trinity Director of Music and the Organist
will team up with friends. In November, we feature the 3 Divas. The December
concert is The Sound of Christmas with bells, flutes, brass and lots of
carol singing by the audience, and the January concert features the Spirituals
Project. Look for announcements on 2008 concerts in the church's monthly
newspaper, ÒVision,Ó in the weekly ÒGood NewsÓ email as well as the Sunday
church bulletin. Trinity
School for the Arts The
purpose of Trinity School for the Arts is to develop and foster understanding
of the relationship between arts, religion, theology and spirituality
(A.R.T.S.). The
Artists Way Classes: These classes
are led by creative, enthusiastic teachers and are held in the fall and
spring. The class is based on Julia Cameron's book of the same name. There
is a fee for the class. Look for announcements scheduling in the church's

of Joy: (Loft: enter through
fellowship hall) Have you ever wanted to learn to read the music for a
hymn rather than just the words? Do you dream of joining the choir, but
are afraid of what's on the page? Would you like to be able to play a
little piano? Would you like to learn more about the story behind our
hymns? Join us for a 30-week course on how to read music taught by a few
of Trinity's talented music educators. Each class will include a lesson
on one of the building blocks of music (rhythm, melody, dynamics), a practical
application of your reading skills on an instrument, such as piano, and
the story behind some of our favorite hymns. Classes will be organized
in units so you can focus on a particular music reading skill, but we
encourage you to take the entire 30-week course so you can walk out as
a musical pro! Classes are Sundays from 9:30-10:15 am beginning September

This unique ministry works in conjunction with the Denver
Center for the Performing Arts. Participants view a play and then participate
in a Òtalk backÓ lecture led by Rev. Daniel Bollman (ELCA). Tickets may
be purchased at the church office. Checks are payable to Trinity United

mission table in Trinity CafŽ, answering questions about upcoming mission

Issues Class: (Family Room, Level 2 - Room 2) This class addresses issues
of our everyday lives – political, moral and social – with
reflection on our Christian tradition and our United Methodist heritage.
We study various articles and books on contemporary topics, including
hunger and poverty, with discussion led by class members. Contact Wendy

Volunteers at Metro CareRing, 1100 East 18th Avenue, Denver. Thursdays
volunteer for full or half days, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm or 9 am –
noon, in the food pantry, or Tuesday evenings from 5:30 – 8:00 pm.

Metro CareRing works with families and individuals to create
solutions to hunger, poverty and other difficulties through advocacy,
listening and advising and meeting basic needs. • Metro
CareRing serves the working poor in the entire metro area through food
assistance, work-related supplies, transportation, identification and
assistance with utilities. Thousands of pounds of food are distributed
annually to needy families through Metro CareRing. •
Metro CareRing provides volunteer counseling to each individual
or family to determine their individual needs. Special needs include resourceful
individuals to volunteer as counselors, distribution workers and shelf
stockers. Tuesdays
and Thursdays: Come to
Trinity and assist with classes in
English as a Second Language. Volunteer at Trinity twice
a week from 9:00 – 11:00 am or 6:30 – 8:00 pm. •
Trinity's ESL project offers adult speakers of other languages
the opportunity to develop their American English skills. Students and
beginners through intermediate work with volunteer tutors in twelve-week
sessions. Sessions are offered either in the morning or in the evening
for two hours each. •
This program was begun by a number of Trinity members and most
tutors are part of TrinityÕs congregation. Skill in another language is
not necessary nor is previous ESL experience. Tutors have worked with
persons from Algeria, Somalia, Russia, France, Brazil, Mongolia, Columbia,
Mexico, Korea and Thailand. Contact Cynthia Mousel at 303-377-8198. Wednesdays,
Thursdays and Fridays: Trinity's Soup Kitchen Lunch Program serves a hot lunch to
200 needy individuals! Give the church a call to learn for which dates
we need volunteers. Volunteers can chop and dice from 9:00 - 11:00 am
or serve lunch from 11:15 - 1:15 pm. This
effective outreach program is an opportunity for many to have a presence

Avenue, Denver. Your help is needed, mornings and afternoons, in their
food bank. DenUM nourishes the spirit of community, cultivates awareness
of urban life and provides resources for persons in crisis. DenUM creates
opportunities for individual and community growth and service. Contact
