Congratulations on your decision to be married!
Historic Trinity United Methodist Church, a perfect wedding site, was built in 1888 in what is now the heart of downtown Denver. The impressive Gothic exterior has an entryway with three arches and wrought iron gates. The glorious Sanctuary, with the impressive Roosevelt pipe organ, is filled with the rich, warm colors of carved wood and stained glass windows. The church provides numerous backdrops for wedding pictures. Because it was built in the Victorian era, there are a number of intimate nooks and crannies to use as settings for additional bridal photographs. The church is large, but with special lighting, works well for almost any size wedding. A smaller, modern chapel that seats up to 70 people is also available for services.
We do not just rent out the Sanctuary and chapel as a space for a wedding; we provide everything necessary for a formal, traditional wedding including:
- the wedding site for three hours on the day of the wedding and an hour the night before the wedding for the rehearsal
- large dressing rooms for the bridal party and the groom and groomsmen
- wedding coordinator
- light and soundboard technician
- cleaning services
- free parking in the lot next to the church, which holds approximately 140 cars
The ministers use the traditional wedding ceremony, but the bride and groom are encouraged to add readings, unity symbols, music and other items to the service to make it their own beautiful, formal, traditional service.
A wedding ceremony at Trinity United Methodist Church is a ritual that has come through the long history of the Christian church, and we approach it with deep respect. As you make your decision about where to be married, we trust that you will acknowledge Trinity as a House of Worship, which includes this Christian ritual for making your wedding vows.
