Sunday, April 30, 1 p.m. | Sanctuary
The historic Trinity United Methodist Church, built in 1888, has some of the most beautiful stained glass windows. On Sunday, April 30, the Chancel Chamber Choir will feature these beautiful windows in a concert entitled “Beauty”.
Quotes from author Julia Cameron will be laced throughout the concert as the choir highlights the three large windows in our Sanctuary. The Resurrection Window at the back of the room will encourage us through the music of three compositions: Sing Me to Heaven by Daniel E. Gawthrop, Under His Wings arranged by Stephen Manders and Beautiful City by Andre J. Thomas. The north window is the Twelve Tribes of Israel so we will sing music based on the Old Testament. The last section of the concert is based on the south window – the Twelve Disciples – so we will include the songs Adoro Te Devote (Jesus Adore Thee), Jesus, Keep Me Near the Cross, Jubilant Song, For the Beaty of the Earth and closing the concert with solo cello and the choir singing Benedictus by Karl Jenkins from his Mass for Peace.
A freewill offering will be taken.
A light lunch will be available after the 11 a.m. worship service sponsored by our Fellowship Committee prior to the concert.
