The Habitat Interfaith
Alliance (HIA) is a group of 12 congregations whose mission is to utilize
the energy and commitment of their faith communities to build homes for
families in need, while building a foundation for interfaith trust, communication
and understanding.
What it is:
• Habitat for Humanity is a home ownership program that instills
pride and encourages hope by offering a constructive means for families
to break the cycle of poverty.
The Trinity connection:
The Habitat Interfaith Alliance, formerly Denver Alliance for Interfaith
Action (DAIA), was founded by Trinity and other Denver interfaith communities
in 2002. DAIA, as stated above, merged with Habitat on the Hill to form
Habitat Interfaith Alliance in 2006. Our mission is to not only build
houses, but also to build interfaith bridges and celebrate our connectedness
as People of Faith.
How can I help?
• Join us for this exciting mission by picking up a hammer and volunteering
at the build site. Check the Habitat Interfaith Alliance web site www.hiadenver.org
