What it is:
Trinity's Military Ministry was established in 2011 to support our troops overseas. Our ministry has grown in projects and members ever since. Our purpose is to support the men and women serving and sacrificing for our beloved country and their families, while we continue praying for peace.
- Operation Homefront—school supplies were distributed in donated back-packs to military children of active duty lower rank personnel who are on tight budgets. It's such a blessing to help these families.
- Fisher House—The Military Ministry has provided evening/supper meals to the families of hospitalized veterans staying at the Fisher House. It is a special treat for both team members and Fisher House guests when we share a meal together to visit and have fellowship. Members of the Military Mission team also planted a vegetable garden last spring for use by anyone staying at Fisher House.
How you can help:
- Join the Military Ministry Committee
- Pray for our men and women serving in the military
The Trinity Connection:
In 2015 we will be sending packages to Chaplain (LTC) Derrick Riggs, the Command Chaplain for Special Operations Joint Task Force and NATO Special Operations Component Command in Afghanistan. Chaplain Riggs has several hundred military men and women under his care and Trinity shipped 30 care boxes on February 7, 2015. Additional care boxes will be sent at intervals throughout the year.
Included in each box is a copy of the devotional book Strength for Service to God and Country; a bandana with Psalm 91 printed on it; goodies including socks, trail mix, jerky, nuts and gum; and cards from Trinity members and children. You can purchase one complete box including the cost of shipping for $65. Boxes can be purchased in honor of or memory of a friend or relative. Of course, donations in any amount will help the Military Ministry support our troops overseas. Visit the Military Ministry table in Trinity Café (Level 3) on the third Sunday of each month to learn more.
The Military Ministry and Trinity's Prayer Team pray for our men and women in the military. Check out the bulletin board outside of Fellowship Hall for updates and pictures.
