Length of Class: 75 minutes, caregivers join for the last 15 minutes
Class Size: 4-6 children
Class Time: Mondays at 6:15 p.m.
Tuition & Fees: $335/semester

Class Description: Music Makers at the Piano: Year 1 is a 75-minute class that helps children develop the skills needed to begin a successful musical journey toward piano playing and musicianship. Comprehensive musicianship encompasses many facets of music: performance (playing by ear, playing from memory, playing from score), improvisation, an understanding of music concepts, and an acquaintance with the historical and theoretical contexts of music. Children come to the piano ready to play the songs they have learned to sing, dance, and love in their earlier classes. Small group lessons capitalize on your child's delight in making music with others and allow exploration of music utilizing many modalities - singing, drumming, movement, and - ultimately - playing the keyboard.
Note: The child must have a piano or keyboard at home in order to practice.
Materials: Keyboard Children's Book 1 & 2 materials include music book, listening CDs, practice CDs, notation games, and parent book.
